Voter Information Available

Per Illinois State Statute, the County Clerk’s Office will be posting in the office, the list of voters who have participated in the Early Voting process for the March 20, 2018 General Primary Election.  This list will include those voters who either requested a Vote by Mail ballot or voters who cast an Early Voting or Grace Period ballot at the County Clerk’s Office or one of the Early Voting sites designated in Will County.  This list will begin to display on December 20, 2017 and will be updated every Friday.

Candidates running in the March 20, 2018 General Primary Election, may request to receive this list in its entirety or just by district (i.e. County Board District).  If you are interested in receiving the list by e-mail, submit your request to the County Clerk’s Office at votebymail@willcountyillinois.com and specify if you wish to receive the entire list or just those voters within a specific district.  Updated lists will be sent out every Friday.

VOTER LIST – $2.00 per Precinct:
– Includes only the name and address of the voter
– Can be sorted “By Street” or “By Last Name”
– Used as a “Walking List” (going door to door for collecting signatures or campaigning)
– Can order a list for all registered voters in a single Precinct or District (i.e. particular municipality, township, park, library, etc.)
– Can order the list with those who only voted in a certain election(s)
– And/or by which party ballot they pulled
– And/or by if they voted early or at their precinct on Election Day

VOTER HISTORY LIST – $5.00 per Precinct:
– Includes the name, address and voting history of the voter
– Can only select up to 6 elections to be printed on this list
– If a primary election is selected, it will show you the party the voter declared
– Can be sorted “By Street” or “By Last Name”
– Can be used as a “Walking List” (going door to door for collecting signatures or campaigning).
– Can order a list for all registered voters in a single Precinct or District (i.e. particular municipality, township, park, library, etc.)

*VOTER HISTORY FLASH DRIVE – $50 base fee plus $1.00 per Precinct:
– Includes the name, address and voting history of the voter all the way back to the Primary 2000 Election
– Used mainly for Districts (i.e. particular municipality, township, park, library, etc.)
– Normally an Excel file, unless order for the entire County, then would be a .dbf file (database type file) and needs to be imported into a database program
*This data can only be used for bonafide political purposes and shall not be used under any circumstances for purposes of commercial solicitation or other business purposes.

LABELS – $.02 per label:
– Normally household labels
– Can order labels in a single Precinct or District (i.e. particular municipality, township, park, library, etc.)
– Can order only those who voted in a certain election(s)
– And/or by which party ballot they pulled

RESTRICTIONS
Illinois State Statute (10 ILCS 5/4-8, 5-7, and 6-35) prohibits the use of voter information for commercial solicitation or other business purposes. Violation of these restrictions is a Class 4 Felony.  Voter registration records are considered public information under the Freedom of Information Act. However, under the advisement of the Will County State’s Attorney, the County Clerk will only confirm if a person is registered to vote and what their voting history is. All other personal information is withheld pursuant to 5 ILCS 140/7(1)(b) as information that, if disclosed, would constitute a clearly unwarranted invasion of personal privacy.
