Making a Payment

Property owners, or a party representing the owner, can redeem (pay) taxes that have been sold by making a payment through the mail or in person at the Will County Clerk’s Office.

TO MAKE A REDEMPTION PAYMENT
Payment must be made in full.  Partial payments are not accepted.

Per Illinois State Statue, payment must be by:
– certified check
– cashier’s check
– money order
Make payable to the Will County Clerk and have your PIN written on the check.

PAYMENT DEADLINES
Payment must be made by 4:30 PM the day before the interest rate changes to avoid additional charges.

PAYMENT MADE ON THE LAST DAY TO REDEEM MUST BE MADE
– in person by 4:30 PM at the Will County Clerk’s Office
– U.S. Mail must be postmarked the day before
– by courier no later than 4:30 PM at the Will County Clerk’s Office
