ASSUMED BUSINESS NAME (DBA)
Illinois law requires that individuals conducting or transacting a business under any name other than the real names of the owners must file an Assumed Name Certificate with the County Clerk in the county in which the business is located. This requirement includes registration for sole proprietorships and general partnerships.

NOTARY PUBLIC INFORMATION
The purpose of notarization is to prevent fraud and forgery. A Notary Public acts as an official and unbiased witness to the identity of the person who comes before the notary for a specific purpose. The Index Department of the Illinois Secretary of State appoints and commissions a Notary Public. The commission for a Notary Public is four years.
STATEMENTS OF ECONOMIC INTERESTS
The Illinois Governmental Ethics Act, 5 ILCS 420 / 4A-101, requires certain local government officials and employees to file a Statement of Economic Interests by May 1st of every year.
