County Clerk Staley Ferry expands Early Voting choices with five new sites

JOLIET – Will County Clerk Lauren Staley Ferry reminds Will County residents that they will have expanded choices on where to cast ballots when Early Voting begins on Monday, March 2 at 25 locations across Will County.

The County Clerk has added five new Early Voting locations since taking office in December 2018.

The new locations include:

  • Spanish Community Center at 309 N. Eastern Ave., on Joliet’s East Side;
  • Louis Sherman Community Center, 3501 Hopkins Ave., in Steger, on the East Side of Will County;
  • Prairie Activity & Recreation Center at 24550 W. Renwick Road, in Plainfield;
  • Shorewood Village Hall at One Towne Center Blvd., in Shorewood;
  • Tall Grass Clubhouse, 3324 Deering Bay Dr., in Naperville. The Tall Grass Clubhouse replaces the Wheatland Township office building, which could no longer accommodate Early Voting.

In addition, Staley Ferry reminds voters that Governors State University has expanded Early Voting hours to include evening and weekend hours in its Hall of Governors. And Crete Township has added two additional days during the second week of Early Voting: Monday March 9, and Tuesday, March 10. The additional hours at both facilities will provide greater convenience to Eastern Will County residents.

“I made a promise to the citizens of Will County to increase their choices for Early Voting, and I am glad to deliver by expanding hours and bringing new locations on board,” Staley Ferry said. “These new Early Voting sites will make casting ballots more convenient for citizens in historically underserved communities while improving access in some of Will County’s busiest voting regions. Thank you to the directors and managers of these facilities for their willingness to help my office provide citizens greater access to the ballot box.”

Other longstanding Early Voting locations across Will County are: the City of Braidwood, the City of Naperville, Fountaindale Public Library in Bolingbrook, Frankfort Township, Homer Township, Lockport Township, Troy Township, the Village of Channahon, the Village of Elwood, the Village of Frankfort, the Village of Manhattan, the Village of Mokena, the Village of Monee, the Village of New Lenox, the Village of Plainfield, the Village of Romeoville, Washington Township, and the Joliet Park District.

Early Voting has been underway at the Will County Clerk’s Office, 302 N. Chicago St., in downtown Joliet, since Feb. 6 and will continue through Monday, March 16. Voting times at the Clerk’s Office will expand to include weekend and early evening hours starting in early March as Election Day draws near.
