Joliet, IL. (May 4, 2017) – Will County Clerk Nancy Schultz Voots is pleased to introduce the County Clerk’s new Assistant Chief Deputy and Tax Extension Supervisor, Brit Hitchins. “Brit will do a fantastic job for the department and will be a valuable asset throughout the office,” Voots states.
Brit has worked in the Tax Extension Department at the Will County Clerk’s office for almost two years. Prior to that, he worked for Plainfield Township as the Deputy Assessor for eight years earning a Certified Illinois Assessing Officer Designation. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Benedictine University.
The Tax Extension Department of the Will County Clerk’s Office accepts filings of budgets, levies, bonds, boundary changes and other financial reports as mandated by the Illinois Property Tax Code. Taxing districts file their annual budgets and levies and request the amount of money needed to operate and to be raised from taxation (property taxes).
